It’s National Take a Walk in the Park Day! New Jersey is truly an incredible place to live, and while we drive all throughout the state in our travels as railing and stair installers, nothing beats a day off to get to enjoy all the sights and sounds of our incredible Garden State up close and personal. Here at Pinto Carpentry, we love any chance to get out of the woodshop and into the great outdoors! Today, we’re going to be sharing some great places across New Jersey where you can enjoy a gorgeous day outside with your family.
Reasons to get outside and take a walk in the park:
Walking outside in a wooded area, or a park with a lot of greenery and flowers can reduce stress hormones and increase positive mental health effects.
Spending time outdoors can increase our intuition and creativity by as much as 50%, according to a study by the University of Kansas.
Chemicals released by plants, known as phytoncides, can help strengthen the body’s immune system.
Walking for just 30 minutes a day can improve cardiovascular fitness, prevent or manage conditions such as heart disease or stroke or high blood pressure and even type 2 diabetes.
Walking together as a family with your children can not only strengthen family bonds, but also helps your child’s physical development and emotional wellbeing!
Here is the local calendar of events from the NJDEP for upcoming family fun, nature excursions, environmental lectures, and more across the whole state.
