Here at Pinto Carpentry, we’re proud to be fellow New Jerseyans! We live and work here in the great garden state, and we’ve raised our families here, too. Today on the blog we’re sharing some of the great places to see and things to do right here in New Jersey, especially if you have a family and want to spend quality time together. Whether you’re a fellow resident of Union or Middlesex county like our crew, or you’re from “down the shore” in South Jersey, we’re here to represent!

Take a guided wine tasting through April 30th at the Old York Wine Cellars in Ringoes. Enjoy a flight of six wines and learn about the wine-making process from a resident expert. Receive a souvenir glass to commemorate the day and make it a full day experience at Cabana with the Winery Food and Wine Menu.
The New Jersey State Museum of Trenton is hosting the “Spirit of ‘76: The Bicentennial” exhibition, commemorating America’s 250th anniversary. Learn the ways the US government, business, and citizens intertwine and reflect upon the 200th anniversary of our nation’s independence. The exhibition will be highlighting different historic moments from the 1970s celebration, on view through February 2027.
Enjoy Wine and Trivia Thursdays at Old York Cellars in Ringoes. Doors open at 6:30PM an feature weekday specials and half-price glasses of wine as well as wine cocktails. $10 per person admission.
March 28th and 29th, April 3rd and 4th, and April 11th and 12th, enjoy the Easter Egg Festival at Heaven Hill Farm and meet Hopper the Easter Bunny in person. The scavenger hunt is open to all children ages 12 and under from 11 to 4PM each day. Enjoy a fun springtime festival including farm animals, hayrides, carnival games and rides,and more.
On April 4th, from 10AM to 1:30PM, enjoy the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Liberty Hall Museum in Union. There will be 2 one hour sessions for easter egg hunts as well as food, games, crafts and more (and maybe even a surprise easter bunny cameo!)
The Bunny Trail Spring Festival is back at Terhune Orchards in Princeton on April 4th and 5th from 10AM to 4PM for a fun-filled family event! Enjoy games, playhouses, races, and more spring themed fun.
The Westfield Community Concert Band Spring Concert is hosting its annual event on April 10th at 7:30 at the Edison Intermediate School Auditorium in Westfield.
The Annual World Food Festival is coming to St John Vianney Church in Colonia on April 11th for a 2026 Kick-Off Event for the Third Annual festival with global flavors and music. Enjoy 14 food vendors with authentic dishes in an EPOC inspired experience along with live local music and bands. Kids under 5 enter free, tickets $3.50-$5 per person at the door; parking is free.
The charming Pier Village Kite Festival is taking place in Long Branch on April 11th. Enjoy a festive spring day by the ocean and watch as beautiful kites fill the air. You can bring your own and join the fun or purchase on one site to commemorate the day.
Come one, come all to the Plainfield Family Festival at Plainfield High School on Saturday April 12th from 11AM to 3PM. Enjoy family friendly fun, community resources, live music, free food, and more!
JC’s Annual Spring Vendor Pop-up returns to the Fanwood Train Station on April 12th from 10AM to 4PM with free admission for all. Enjoy local businesses and artisans sharing their wares and products with you! Great food and great music to be enjoyed by all!
On Wednesdays from April 15th, April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th, May 13th, and May 20th at the South Plainfield Library, enjoy free food and family friendly fun for children 6 through 10 years old at the “Prime Time Family Reading Event” starting at 6PM weekly.
Clueless is showing in glorious 35mm, taking you straight back to the 90s at the UCPAC in Rahway on April 16th! Dress in your 90s best to join the costume contest asnd win prizes proper to the movie. Enjoy sweet treats and special cocktails in the cafe with your besties and enjoy this classic comedy on the big screen.
On April 16th, enjoy April Crafts for families with children aged 3 through 13 at The Drake House on West Front Street from 3PM. Brought to you by the Plainfield Public Library.
Join the community for a FREE earth day celebration at The New Weis Center for Education, Arts and Recreation in Ringwood on Sunday April 19th. Enjoy nature games, a picnic, herbal tea making, a scavenger hunt, and so much more!
Lean about 18th-century colonial taverns in America at the Village Brewing Company in Somerville at “Brewing the Revolution” on April 19th. Through special first-person storytelling experiences, enjoy a history of the American Revolution and more!
The spectacular film tribute to the late, great artist Basquiat by his friend Julian Schnabel will be on view at the Morris Museum in Morristown on April 22nd. Explore the history and profound look at this artist’s life through “Basquiat” the film, with a special Q&A after the screening with film historian Gerard Amsellem.
The Foodie Fest returns for its second year on April 25th from 2PM to 7PM in Hoboken on Garden Street between 4th and 5th Streets. This is a food festival with purpose, raising Autism awareness and acceptance and fostering an atmosphere of inclusion within the community. Live music will be provided by a DJ. Donations of a childrens’ book are encouraged to support local literacy initiatives.
